A little about myself...
I have always been an animal lover as long as I can remember. Growing up I was around all kinds of animals, such as dogs, birds, hamsters, rabbits, fish and cats. I knew from an early age I wanted to do something with animals. As a child I loved pretending I was a Veterinarian and my stuffed toys were my patients. I also remember having a stuffed rabbit toy that was named BoBo; he was my absolute favorite thing in the world. BoBo came everywhere with me from my grandparents homes to the store to any where! Another past time memory is always sneaking dog biscuits to our two dogs, Cheetah and Shauna. I just loved playing and following those two pups all around! I could literally go on and on about all the memories I had with ALL of our family pets, but it would be a lot of writing! So, I hope if you're considering Posh Paws to care for your pet(s), I hope to share some of my memories with you about my past and present pets I have had in my life.
Since 1998, I have completed classes in Veterinarian Science and worked in Veterinarian Hospitals working in different areas, such as a Veterinarian Assistant, Kennel Attendant, and K-9 Day Camp Counselor. Working in these different areas provided me with experience and knowledge in medicating, handling animals, and knowing types of behaviors, and much more!
I continue to broaden my education and training through online courses, attending conventions, and webinars. In addition, I am certified in Pet 1st Aid and CPR. And lastly, I am a member of two educational platforms Pet Sitters International(PSI) and PetsitUSA, and I also contribute monthly to the The Humane Society and ASPCA along with other local rescues.
I started pet sitting part-time in 2005 as I worked in Veterinarian Clinics, but I quickly knew I loved doing this and decided to pursue it full-time in 2012! I currently live in Wake Forest with my husband and our fur babies. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and our fur kids, hiking, traveling, and going to the beach.
